Gutierrez, Dario

Dr. Dario Gutierrez is the Director and Head of Investigational Biology for the Merck Exploratory Science Center in Cambridge MA. Previously, he led the Immune Tolerance group at Evelo Biosciences in Cambridge MA. He received a bachelors of science in Chemistry from California State University, San Bernardino, a Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University, and performed a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Hans-Reimer Rodewald at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. He has authored multiple publications on the role of the immune system in metabolism and autoimmune diseases, and current work focuses on the role of the microbiome in immune regulation as well as novel methods for the modulation of innate and adaptive immune responses.
