The 6th edition of The Barcelona Debates on the Human Microbiome, entitled The Microbiome in the Time of Pandemics, was held on June 26–27, 2020, as a fully virtual meeting broadcast via webcast. The event brought together 172 participants and 16 speakers to address the role of the microbiome in immunity and resistance to infection in the context of global pandemics.
The scientific program focused on the interplay between microbiome, immune responses, and infectious diseases, fostering in-depth discussion and knowledge exchange in a challenging global context. We sincerely thank all speakers and attendees for their commitment and active participation in making this virtual edition a successful platform for scientific exchange.
